It's official, Horton Plaza has been officially sold to Stockdale Capital Partners, a real estate investment firm. Daniel Michaels, managing director of the firm notes that their, “vision is to create downtown San Diego’s absolute leading creative office space.” We are still not confirmed on the terms of the deal, but it is without doubt that this will be revolutionary to downtown San Diego.
Horton Plaza originally opened in 1985 with a Disneyland-meets-Italian-hills vibe, and was seen as a model of urban development at the time. Obviously, time has changed with many storefronts closing due to the rise of e-commerce.
